Dr. Allen Hill (Al) Bandy, Jr.
Dr. Allen H. "Al" Bandy Jr was born and raised here in Newton, NC, attending Appalachian State University for his undergraduate degree and the University of Alabama At Birmingham School of Optometry for his optometric education. He comes from a long line of medical professionals in the area with his father, Dr. Allen H Bandy Sr., an optometrist, and his grandfather, Dr. William Gaither Bandy, a physician in Maiden and Lincolnton.
Dr. Bandy enjoys seeing patients of all ages and caring for multiple generations of many families. Being a long-term contact lens wearer, he often recommends various contact lens options for suitable patients. His practice also includes caring for many eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Locally, Dr. Bandy and his wife are avid supporters of the Green Room Community Theatre and other arts organizations in the county. They both love to travel and take many travel photographs. They have two adult daughters, Ashley and Amy, who live in Conover and Raleigh.
